SOUTH BEND -

A 19-year-old man is the third person suspected of being part of a deadly home invasion in South Bend to be formally charged with the crime.

De'Andre Moore was arraigned on Monday with a hearing set for December 16.

Just after 10 p.m. on October 23, the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department was called to a home in the 18000 block of Warrick Street, just east of Notre Dame.

When police arrived, they found 40-year-old Michael Jackson dead from multiple gunshots. Jackson's death was ruled a homicide.

The homeowner, Robert Carrico, 28, was found alive in his home but also suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Carrico was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses on the scene told officers two people involved in Carrico's shooting fled the scene.

A short time later, a third person also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, 29-year-old Mario McGrew, arrived at Memorial Hospital. McGrew was later arrested by the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit.

McGrew told police Jackson and 36-year-old Shawn Alexander pushed their way into Carrico's house and allegedly held Carrico and two women at gunpoint.

A gunfight then erupted between Carrico and Jackson.

The St. Joseph County prosecutor's office says Alexander later told investigators a fourth person was with Alexander, McGrew and Jackson, and that fourth person, identified as De'Andre Moore, drove their vehicle to Carrico's Warrick St. home.

Alexander said Moore was involved in the discussion to rob Carrico, and Moore allegedly drove the suspects from the scene after Jackson was shot.

Moore on Monday was formally charged with Burglary, Felony Murder and Robbery is in custody in the St. Joseph County without bond.

McGrew is charged with Felony Murder and Burglary and is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail without bond. McGrew has a hearing set for Tuesday.

Alexander is charged with Felony Murder, Burglary and Robbery and is also in jail without bond. Alexander's trial is scheduled for April 2014.
