A slain Indianapolis police officer and a Nappanee native is being remembered by his boyhood community. WSBT's Denise Bohn has the story.

The funeral for an officer killed in the line of duty will be held Thursday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the funeral for 41-year-old Officer Rod Bradway will be open to the public. It begins at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Bradway, a 1991 NorthWood High School graduate, was fatally shot Friday morning while responding to a domestic disturbance.

The viewing for Bradway is scheduled for 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Crown Hill Funeral Home on the city's north side. A flag presentation will begin promptly at 2 p.m.

Bradway will be buried in the Heroes of Public Safety section of Crown Hill Cemetery.
