How does it work?
Teachers register their classroom to participate. The I Love to Read Challenge runs from February 3rd through February 28th. Kids count the minutes they spend reading during the month of February and compete for prizes!!
Who can participate?
Any teachers in the WSBT-TV viewing area, Kindergarten through 6th grade, can register their classrooms to participate.
What do I need to do to register my classroom?
Click here to register your classroom by January 29th. Your class must be registered to be eligible for prizes and to receive certificates of participation from the WSBT and the St Joseph Public Library.
What prizes can my classroom win?
The top student at each grade level will win a $50 gift card from the St. Joseph Public Library.
The top three classrooms each win $250 gift card from the St. Joseph Public Library!
Are there other awards?
The Rising to the Challenge Award is given to three individuals (nominated by their teacher) who have overcome a handicap or adversity to participate in the I Love to Read Challenge. Each of the three Rising to the Challenge award winners will receive a $50 gift card from the St Joseph Public Library.
The Creative Teacher Award is given to one teacher who enhances the I Love to Read Challenge for her classroom in the most creative way. The winner wins a trip for 4 to Disney World!

Important Dates to Remember:
January 6 through January 29: register on-line
February 3 students begin logging the minutes they spend reading daily
February 28: I Love to Read Challenge ends
March 3 through 7: Students turn in Calendar Logs to their classroom teacher. Teachers enter classroom results on line at wsbt.com. Teachers must submit nominations for Rising to the Challenge and Creative Teacher Awards
March 7 - Friday: DEADLINE-all verifications must be received.
