Valentines Day was anything but sweet for a handful of drivers in Elkhart.
The county conducted an impaired driving patrol last night in the city of Elkhart and made eight arrests.
And another patrol is being conducted Saturday night in Elkhart county.

The Elkhart County Traffic Safety Partnership, which is made up of a team of police agencies from around Elkhart County, conducted an impaired driving patrol last night, February 14th, in the south and west areas of Elkhart City. The patrol resulted in eight arrests for impaired driving during the four hour patrol. People who choose to operate a vehicle while impaired, on any substance that would prevent them from driving safely, can expect to be arrested and brought to jail. The Partnership will be conducting another patrol tonight, Saturday, with the goal of removing anyone driving impaired off of the roadway and holding them accountable.
The Elkhart County Traffic Safety Partnership will be taking part in Operation Pull Over coming up February 28th, with a focus on aggressive and impaired driving.
The Traffic Safety Partnership is funded by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI).
