Its been abandoned for nearly five years, but now, the former Ford Building on South Bend's Northwest side could soon be getting a makeover.
The Near Northwest Neighborhood Association wants to take over the property and rehab it.
According to the South Bend Tribune, the council will decide whether to award the NNN a three year or six year tax abatement.
If the three year is approved, the organization could save as much as $400,000.
Then, the project has to be approved by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority. If approved, construction could start next fall.
The NNN will be taking South Bend's city council members through the building on a tour.
