We are just learning the results from Indiana's spring standardized test results, called ISTEP.
You can find the entire list with every local school district here: http://www.doe.in.gov/improvement/accountability/find-school-and-corporation-data-reports
Statewide scores went up, with nearly 74 percent of 3rd through 8th-graders passing both sections of the test.
Locally here is what we found: In South Bend scores are below the state average. Only 4th and 6th grades had more than 60 percent of students pass both the math and English Language Arts parts of the test.
IN Mishawaka between 75 and 80 percent of elementary students passed both sections of the test.
But only 63 and 65 percent of 7th and 8th-graders in Mishawaka passed both.
Penn-Harris-Madison schools are well above the state average in every grade, with 8th-graders doing the best.
More than 90 percent of 8th-graders passed both sections of the test.
Remember, this was the testing in May when about 80,000 students across Indiana were interrupted because of computer problems.
But an independent expert determined the interruptions had little effect on scores.
