Police have released more information about reported gunmen at Park Jefferson Apartments.

They tell our reporter at the scene that around 4 a.m. Wednesday three masked males with weapons broke into an apartment on North Le De La Paix Boulevard.

In the apartment were three juveniles, an infant and two adults.

Police say they were looking for money but didn't find it.

The gunmen left one male in the apartment and the other two took an adult female and an infant with them to a home in the 1600 block of South Nash in South Bend, say police. At that home they repeated the process – another armed home invasion.

Police say they did not find what they were looking for there so they ran off, releasing the infant and woman.

At 4:22 a.m. the woman called 911 and told police she feared there was a remaining gunman in the Park Jefferson apartment with her children.

SWAT was activated along with negotiators. They raided the home and found no suspects.

No arrests have been made at this time.  Police tell us the suspects drove away from the Nash Street address in a purple Chevy Equinox. It's a vehicle belonging to the victims.

That vehicle was later recovered on the southwest side of the city, say police.

They also tell us they do not believe this crime was random.

No one was injured.
