COME DONATE TODAY! WSBT teams up with Ziker Cleaners for annual Coats for Kids

With this week's cold temperatures and snow you may have discovered your kids winter gear no longer fits. We have a great idea of what you can do with those gently used jackets and snow pants--take them to Ziker Cleaners. WSBT's Denise Bohn is live at the Ziker Cleaners on East Sample Street in South Bend.

Wondering what to do with your child's old winter jacket and gloves? Why not donate them to another child who may not be able to afford one.

WSBT is teaming up again this year with Ziker Cleaners for their "Coats for Kids" drive.

We just started our drop-off for gently used coats here at the WSBT Stations on East Douglas Road in Mishawaka.

This will continue until 7 tonight, so please come donate! Just look for the tent outside our station.

Right now, about 800 coats have been donated, but at least 1500 are needed.

"We need people to go through their closets, try the coats on their kids and if they don't fit bring them to any Ziker Cleaners locations," said Jennifer Probst, Ziker Cleaners Store Director.

Jackets and snow gear of all sizes, from Kindergarten to young adult, are accepted.

The items can be new or gently worn, no broken zippers or Dry Clean Only items, please.

"The goal is to make sure every kid can be warm this winter," added Probst.

Donation boxes are also set up at Old National Bank locations.

Zikers Cleaners will be giving away a majority of the coats on Saturday, December 7th at Navarre School in South Bend.

Donations will also be sent to Elkhart and Mishawaka schools.
