Confusion over when football players sing the Notre Dame Alma Mater after games has many students upset.
Students booed the team after many walked off the field and didn't stop to sing "Notre Dame, Our Mother," after the loss to Oklahoma last Saturday.
Since 2006, after a home game, win or lose, the football team and students had traditionally sung the University Alma Mater.
Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick wrote a letter to the editor in the school's Observer Newspaper Thursday reminding students he changed the policy in 2011.
Swarbrick says he and coach Kelly agree the Alma Mater should only be sung after a victory.
A rule many students are not happy about.
