Greenan Sullivan has come a long way since his freshman year.
"Some of those games, I remember I was super nervous," St. Joe junior PG Greenan Sullivan admits, thinking back two years.
Who wouldn't be, starting on the varsity as a freshman? Back then, Sullivan often went up against bigger guys, sometimes three or even four years older than he was.
"It was just a good experience." Sullivan recalls. "I'm glad I got to play. Get it over with then."
The Indians are certainly glad too. Now a junior, Sullivan is one of the most seasoned point guards in the state.
"He's one of the toughest kids I've met, mentally & physically", says St. Joe 1st year head coach Mike Bauer. " Has an attack mentality, whether it's at the basket or at the 3-point line. He's just an all-around good ball player."
And he's added scoring to his repertoire. Sullivan is among the leading scorers in the area, averaging better than 15 point per game in the Northern Indiana Conference. He can take over a game from the perimeter...or off the dribble.
"I'm always trying to find my teammates," Sullivan says of his role. "It just depends on how the game is flowing... If my team needs me to score, I'll step it up."
No matter how many points he puts up, he's still a point guard at heart. And that means...sharing is half the fun. So if you ask him if he'd rather knock down a three pointer, or find an open teammate under the hoop with a no look pass?
"That's a tough one . Just depends on the game, I guess."
