LAKE STATION, Ind. (AP) -

State police say westbound traffic on the Indiana Toll Road came to a halt towards the west end Tuesday morning.

Troopers say a collision between two trucks and a resulting fire closed the westbound lanes near mile marker 21 in eastern Lake County around 10:45 a.m. CST.

Westbound traffic was diverted at mile marker 23, the Willow Creek Road exit, and detoured to I-94.

Police were urging motorists to avoid the area.

The Toll Road was reopened nearly four hours later.
